Isomniatics and The Portable Age

Sleeping has been a little of the oddity this spring season. Lots going on internally and externally.So running out of things to occupy myself i bevel into cell phone gaming. In particular "Surviving High School" on the good ol' VZW. And I got to tell you, two hours later into the game, no longer caring about sleep I "survived high school. It was a free trial, so i thought, why not?!

This is phone-gaming?!

My Character who's name i chose as "Worth" is a transplant from out of state who moves into town just in time to enroll into High School. He's a sophomore and is feeling pressure from his parents to play football, which at this school is a huge deal.

Balancing grades, socialites, families and pop culture can be tricky business, The game has these dizzying and confusing sub-games, like;

 "you are the smiley face revolving on the screen, catch punches and kicks, but avoid the POW's"

On top of this you have fill your free time, with working out, study, and getting that all but elusive date with the girl. Oh, and they ask you questions in all your subjects "for class time" and you also tutor people with real questions and answers. And the constant rumour mill and chit chat and note passing.

...Not what i expected at 1:00am to say the least...

As the "weeks" or minutes in real time pass by you must report to coach and the guidance counselor. Who accesses your situation. This is a really challenging concept for such a complex "game" where you are constantly hit up with social interaction, proving yourself on and off the field and trying to get the up-ons. Thanks to my computerized friend tony, he scored me two tickets to homecoming which i would have not been able to afford. Guess it was a good idea i stayed by his side in the hospital as he recovered from a sports injury. My "mom and dad" were a little upset i missed the visit from my aunt whom nobody likes, but admit i am a good friend.

I survived my transition into high school, was a regular starter on the football team, got buff so i could beat up the school bully who is now my friend. I have the admiration of my parents and teacher, and I landed the girl, who upon a botched venture in Hollywood as a teen actor/fiance to a producer... worked out just fine. And i was even runner up for the homecoming king. My clothes could be described as "So 2005!", but hey! who has time to shop with all of this going on. All this and a 3.9GPA thanks to my alliance with the tech junkies who helped me get the school mascot back from our rival school. If only my real high school experience was 1/3 as productive.

Conclusion (for those of you looking to the meaning behind it all)

Oh and the important thing to mention, during the entire hour and a half playing the game it was snowing, my neighbor a house behind me was vomiting off and on in his back yard in full HD-Stereo Surround Sound. Though the sound was digital the vomit was all analog. Then it was time to sleep.

My life is uninteresting. I tend to sleep better at night. Sometimes
